In the weeks leading up to the October 21 election, our community mobilized to start valuable conversations with prospective MPs on important issues of accessibility through our online communication tool at yourmoveontario.ca.
We called on people with SCI, service providers, researchers, policy makers, industry, donors and volunteers to communicate with candidates who were running to form the next Canadian Government as Members of Parliament (MPs). On our web page, users simply added their postal code to determine their MP candidates, who were then emailed a personalized letter. Dozens of forms were completed, which led to meetings and discussions on how an MP and their party can advance accessibility issues on behalf of people with disabilities in Ontario and across the country. Thanks for taking action, and continuing these important conversations.
